The KNX IoT Environment sensor measures periodically the air quality. It can be used in conjunction with a KNX IoT hub running an MQTT proxy. Together it makes up a system that can cover a large area and the measurements can be conveyed over MQTT and stored at a different location.

The video shows how easy it is setup the system and how to access the data remotely. It contains the following information:

Using the KNX IoT Environment Sensor with ETS

Using the MQTT proxy running on the KNX IoT Hub with ETS

Showing the measurements in ETS group monitor

Showing the measurements on the (MQTT) dashboard, which can be accessed anywhere in the world.

ETS6: Configuring a heterogeneous installation, using TP & IoT devices.

In the video below, a setup is used that contains TP devices and IoT devices. To be more exact, on each side a button and an actuator are configured.

The configuration contains that the actuators sends feedback to the buttons.

The network/KNX topology contains an TP section and an IoT section as follows:

This setup is then configured by means of ETS 6, showing the downloading and interoperability of the TP and IoT devices in the following video:

In-Depth Guide to the Cascoda Packet Sniffer

If you are developing devices running on Thread, then you can use Cascoda’s packet sniffer to see all the traffic in the air.

The online documentation on how to use the Sniffer is available on GitHub.

However we also made a video that demonstrates the following steps:

Starting Wireshark, including selecting the Thread channel

Decrypt Thread network communication (since communication over Thread is always secure)

Showing IEEE 802.15.4 packets, Thread MLE communication

Showing CoAP & mDNS traffic

Decrypt KNX OSCORE messaging

Showing & explaining the KNX s-mode messages

Just when you thought it was safe to get back in the water, after our KNX IoT Battleships game… Cascoda’s engineers used ChiliCuisine™ to develop a lighting system all configured by ETS6 from KNX Association. Thanks to ChiliCuisine™, our low-code development environment, it only took less than a day to develop, deploy and test the whole lighting system.

The actual end user experience to configure using ETS6 and use the system with the Eink display is demonstrated in the video here:
